Ella and I met Sienna after we spent the morning in the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco. She was seated at the same bus stop we needed to return to our Airbnb, and upon our arrival, broke the ice by asking for a lighter. The light streaming through the shelter caught on her sparkling makeup and, naturally, caught my eye as well. After going back and forth with Ella, discussing the implications of a man snapping pictures of people at a bus stop (and thus, being a creep), I finally decided to ask if I could take her portrait. Sienna agreed with a combination of flattery and bewilderment, and our compliments on her makeup made her day.
